Cards to Build Upon Returning Talent in Hopes of Climbing the NESCAC Ladder in 2008-09
A hard-working Cardinal squad that features 10 of the 16 players who saw action for the Cardinals a year ago will be out to improve upon its record of a year ago and move up in the NESCAC standings in 2008-09. Team co-captains Stan Grayson '09 (#40, right in photo but now wearing #45) and Jeremy Kaminer '10 (#15, left in photo) will rally the troops this season after seeing quite a bit of action last season. Grayson averaged 23 minutes a game and contributed 11.7 points and 5.5 rebounds a contest. Kaminer, on the floor nearly 28 minutes a game, was good for 6.3 points on average and dished out a team-leading 64 assists from his guard spot. Also back as seasoned vets are Kevin Scura '09, Ezaakk Diggs '09 and Gabe Gonzalez-Kreisberg '09 with help from Jon Sargent '09, Dave Maltz '11, Michael Battle '11 and Steve Tolbert '10. The team has only a couple of new faces but they are expected to push the returnees and see plenty of court time. The Cardinals open the 2008-09 season with a trip to Gordon College for its tip-off tournament Fri. and Sat., Nov. 21 and 22. In the first round, Wesleyan takes on William Paterson while the host tackles Oneonta St.
