Carding a 78 at the Tournament Player Club in Cromwell and a 73 at Shuttle Meadow Country Club in Kensington, Eli Wilson '09 (photo) led Wesleyan with his 151 total during the Trinity College Shootout Sat.-Sun., Oct. 11-12. With three of the top four teams from the recent NESCAC Qualifier providing the competition, it was not surprising the Cardinals trailed the field with their 644 team total. Middlebury won the outing on a tie-breaker, tying Trinity with a 604 score. Williams was third with 621. While Wilson tied for fifth individually, Pete Taylor '12 also finished in the top half of the 20 participants as he came through with a 77-77-154 score, good for ninth place.
During the team's only fall dual-match action at Mitchell Wed., Oct. 15, the squad defeated the host with a 337 score to Mitchell's 388 while Rhode Island College won the three-way affair with a 323 count. Taylor tied for medal honors with his round of 79, seven over par. The final action of the fall comes up Mon.-Tues., Oct. 21-22 when the New England Championship will take place in Brewster, Mass.
