Jeff Gilarde joined the athletic golf staff in 2003 as an assistant, was elevated to associate head coach in 2008, was named co-head coach starting with the fall of 2009 and then became the team's one and only head coach starting in 2014-15. He has been the Director of Scientific Imaging in the biology department at Wesleyan since 1984. Before that he was an assistant scientist in the department of pathology at the Yale School of Medicine. He earned his degree in biology from the University of Connecticut in 1982 where he was also on the track team.
Prior to being named solo head coach, Jeff had been involved with recruitment, player development and is happily referred to as the “swing doctor” in the Wesleyan golf program. He posts a seven handicap himself and can usually be found sharpening his skills at Lyman Orchards Golf Club (Wesleyan’s home course).
Jeff and his wife, Lisa, their daughter, Camille, and twin boys, Alec and Graham, make their home in Cobalt, Conn.
