Taking a penalty corner for the Cardinals during a game vs. Bates Sat., Oct. 13, Alexa David '10 (#14, photo by SteveMcLaughlinPhotography.com) ended up completing the play after a drive by Maddie Rottman '08 and a redirect by Jamie Thabault '11. The touch by Thabault sent the ball to David who had moved to the post and tipped the ball home 13:49 into the first half. With Breen McDonald '10 making six saves in goal, Wesleyan had its sixth consecutive victory and the third by shutout during the stretch. Tufts, ranked 17th nationally in Division III, brought the win streak to a halt by taking a 2-0 victory in Middletown Wed., Oct. 17. The Jumbos netted a goal in the opening 10 minutes of each half and survived a push by Wesleyan in the closing moments as the Tufts goalie made two significant saves down the stretch to preserve the win. It was the first time this season the Cardinals were held scoreless. Wesleyan travels to Amherst Sat., Oct. 20 for another important NESCAC matchup.
