WHY I CHOSE WES:

I chose Wesleyan after thinking that it was the last place that I would ever go. When I initially started looking at colleges, I refused to look anywhere in Connecticut and therefore did not even consider Wesleyan. Also, after deciding the first college that I went to was not for me, I believed that I would not enjoy Wes either. However, I decided to apply anyway. When I was accepted to the school and came for an overnight visit, I ended up meeting the most amazing people who were not only welcoming and friendly, but also had a tremendous amount of enthusiasm and support for both what they were doing and what everyone else was doing on campus. I knew from that moment that I wanted to be a part of the community.

ACADEMIC
INTERESTS:

I am hoping to study a combination of Neuroscience and Computer Science. I actually ended up coming into Neuroscience accidentally after taking a bunch of classes that just sounded interesting to me and was later thrilled to find out that I could turn my interests into a major. As for Computer Science, I took a class last semester in preparation for engineering with not many expectations. However, I soon found that I loved the hands-on learning in the class and found myself excited to take further classes in the department. Since I’m primarily interested in the health field, I have found the combination of the two majors to be a great preparation for this.

FAVORITE CLASS:

My favorite class that I have taken at Wes thus far was definitely Drawing I with Professor Juliana Romano. I have never been artistically inclined and had never taken a drawing class in my life. This class was initially incredibly intimidating, but it pushed me and allowed me to grow in a way that I never thought possible. After taking the class, I can honestly say that I have learned to think in a new way and that I have developed a skill that I will continue to enjoy for the rest of my life.

WHY I CHOSE TO BE A TOUR GUIDE:

I want to be a tour guide because I love interacting with people, especially when it comes to talking about Wes. I remember how stressful the college process was for me, so I want to help others through it by sharing some of my passion for Wesleyan with them and easing any worries that people may have about the transition.
