HIGH SCHOOL: J Frank Dobie High School

I was born in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and immigrated to the States when I was one year old. My family made Houston, TX our home. I attended J Frank Dobie High School. It was through the Quest Bridge Scholarship that I first turned my eyes toward Wesleyan University. I am currently a freshman and intend to become a music major with a possible double major in Neuroscience and Behavior. When I'm not in class, I spend time in rehearsals either for Second Stage productions or one of my a cappella groups. I'm currently a member of the Wesleyan Spirits, Wesleyan's oldest all male a cappella group, and Notably Sharp, Wesleyan's best dressed a cappella group. I dedicate some of my time to my work in the office of admission. I loves to listen to all kinds of music. I am a black belt in Tae Kwon Doe.

Since I was very young, my dream has been to become a performer. As cliche as it may sound, I began singing before I began speaking. When I was looking at colleges, I knew I was going to end up majoring in music with a focus in voice, but I didn't want to restrict myself to music classes only, like a conservatory. I wanted to engage in a rigorous academic education. Wesleyan provided me with the best of both worlds. I'm able to pursue my love of singing and acting, while getting a great education.
