Rosemary Elizabeth Ostfeld

Dr. Rosemary Ostfeld is an interdisciplinary environmental scientist and founder of Healthy PlanEat, a sustainable food tech startup. She completed a BA/MA in Biology and Earth and Environmental Sciences at Wesleyan University, an MPhil in Environmental Policy, and a PhD in Land Economy at the University of Cambridge as a Cambridge Trust Scholar. Her doctoral research focused on exploring the impact of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil, a multi-stakeholder initiative designed to improve environmental sustainability in the palm oil industry. Her postdoctoral research at the University of Cambridge Judge Business School focused on public attitudes related to climate change, renewable energy, and negative emission technologies in Scotland. Outside of academia, she frequently serves as a freelance consultant and has contributed to reports produced by the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership and Carbon Disclosure Project. Recently, she served as an Innovation Consultant for the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut and was the Coordinator for their inaugural Entrepreneur Academy in New London. Rosemary has volunteered for the National Academy of Sciences Science and Entertainment Exchange, and local committees in her hometown. She has served as a review for the National Science Foundation Small Business Innovation Research grant program. She is a National Geographic Explorer, Explorers Club Fellow, and enjoys traveling. She writes locally for edible CT East food magazine.
