Eury German

Eury German is an educator, community organizer, and multidisciplinary artist living in New York City. He graduated with honors from Wesleyan University, where he received his B.A in Biology and Dance in 2016 and furthered his dance education at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, graduating Summa Cum Laude with an MFA in Dance Performance/Choreography in 2018. Eury began his professional dance training at Wesleyan University at age 18, and permanently relocated to NYC after completing his undergraduate degree in order to attend graduate school. While living in NYC, Eury has danced with various choreographers and dance companies including, but not limited to, Abdul Latif - D2D/T (Wesleyan ‘98), Jennifer Muller The Works, Nimbus Dance Works, Ballet Hispanico, inDance | Toronto, James Swell Ballet, and more. Concurrently, Eury is the Program Supervisor at a non-profit dance education organization, Dance Project of Washington Heights, which works to remove barriers to dance education and build community through dance in the Washington Heights, Harlem, and Bronx neighborhoods. As a dance educator, Eury’s teaching philosophy is an amalgamation of the freedom and liberation researched through improvisation and choreography at Wesleyan University, the regiment and technique garnered at NYU Tisch Dance, and the melding and application of his physical experience as a queer, immigrant person of color which has imbued his performance since embarking on a professional dance career.
