Elizabeth Chang-Davidson
Elizabeth's research focuses on process improvements in additive manufacturing, more popularly known as 3D printing. Elizabeth’s dissertation focused on process optimization of additive manufacturing in titanium through build strategy optimization. She was previously a postdoctoral fellow at Northeastern University, working on toolpath design and thermomechanical modeling of cold spray and wire arc additive manufacturing. Her current research projects study how to mitigate residual stress, geometric error, and build failures in a variety of metal additive manufacturing techniques and materials.
If you are a current Wesleyan undergraduate student interested in doing research with me, please send me an email with a resume attached and I will set up a meeting with you. If you don't have a resume, the Gordon Career Center can help you with developing one.
Elizabeth Chang-Davidson received her B.S. degrees in mechanical engineering and mathematics from MIT, and her M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in mechanical engineering from Carnegie Mellon University. Afterwards, she was a postdoctoral researcher at Northeastern University working with Prof. Sinan Muftu and Prof. Ozan Ozdemir.
