Charles G. Salas

An intellectual historian with a focus on the cultural and political legacies of the classical period, he has published in a wide variety of areas -- including precalculus mathematics, the history of science, the philosophy of history, cultural history, historiography, and the history of art.

Charles Salas received his BA from UC Berkeley, MA from Wesleyan (history), and PhD in history from the Claremont Graduate University. Prior coming to Wesleyan, he worked at the Getty in Los Angeles where he was head of research and education at the Getty Research Institute.
