Salim Green
Salim Green is an artist currently working through themes of hiding, collective anxiety, and the bounds of agency, interrogating the ways these themes inform social relationships and shape how different demographics relate to the built environment. Much of his recent work centers Dark Forest Theory, a pseudo-social theory he has re-purposed and explored in iterations through site specific installation, sculpture, painting, video, sound, and performance.
Green’s work has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in the US and internationally. His most recent solo exhibition was Dark Forest Theory at SculptureCenter in New York with which he, his collaborators, and the museum produced a book of the same name. His work has also recently been included in shows such as The Miraculous Arms at Francois Ghebaly in Los Angeles and Always Being Relation at Zilkha Gallery at Wesleyan University among others.
His work can be found in collections at the Getty Research Institute, The Kinsey African American Art & History Collection, and the Tyler School of Art and Architecture at Temple University.
