#1 Guy Davidson '16, Named 1st-Team All-NESCAC, & #4 Chris Hart '17 Both Go 3-0 as Men's Squash Finishes on Seed at CSA Team Championships

Facing NESCAC foe Colby for the third time in the last four weeks, Wesleyan made it three straight 5-4 conquests, again in dramatic fashion as the teams were tied 4-4 when the last match began action in the opening round of the CSA National Team Championships Summers ("C") Division at Wesleyan. That match featured Chris Hart '17 (photo) at #4. In the previous two matchs vs. Colby, Hart had dropped a 3-0 decision at #4 and more recently, fell, 3-1, playing #3 due to an illness to the Cardinals' usual #3 Alex Kamisher '17. Forging a 2-0 lead on his Colby rival, the same one he had failed to take a game from four weeks earlier, with both games going past regulation, Hart found himself in a 2-2 tie after four games. Down 5-2 in the fifth and deciding game, Hart got the count to 9-9. He then fended on three straight match points on his way to a 14-12 win, moving the Cardinals into the bracket semifinals Sat., Feb. 21 against Middlebury, a team Wesleyan faced in the quarterfinals of the NESCAC tournament Feb. 7, dropping a 5-4 decision. Wesleyan is seeded fourth in the CSA bracket, 20th overall. Colby was fifth and 21st. Middlebury is 1st and 17th.
