Cardinals Knock off Coast Guard in Dual-Meet Finale for 13th Straight Year, Ready for NESCACs at Home

Coming up with 12 first-place finishes from the 16 events competed against Coast Guard in the dual-meet season finale at home Sat., Jan. 31, Wesleyan posted its 13th consecutive victory over the Bears, improving its overall record vs. Coast Guard to 14-1. Ahead for the team is the annual NESCAC Championships, to be hosted by Wesleyan Fri.-Sun., Feb. 13-15. Standing out against Coast Guard, as she has all season, was Angela Slevin '15 (bottom photo), who won both the 100 and 200 backstroke while also taking the 1000 freestyle by more than a minute over four Coast Guard opponents. She also was a member of the victorious 200 free relay to cap the meet. Alexa Burzinski '15 (top photo) put a good finishing touch on her dual-meet career with first-place performances in both the 100 and 200 butterfly.
