Cardinals Close Out Dual-Match Campaign with Victories of Oswego & Hunter, Fall to JWU

Getting back on the dual-match mat after sitting out the opening home quad-match a week ago due to an ailment, Chris Siracusa '16 (bottom photo) made a triumphant return with a 3-0 record in the Cardinals' final quad-match Sun., Feb. 15. Wesleyan knocked off both SUNY Oswego, 33-12, and Hunter, 33-14, before falling to 15th-ranked nationaly Johnson & Wales, 25-15. The squad closed out the year with an 8-11 dual-match mark. Also logging a 3-0 record on the day to improved his dual-match mark to 9-1, 19-4 overall was Isaiah Bellamy '18 (top photo). Bellamy came through with a technical fall against Oswego at the heavyweight division, then got back to his normal posture at 197 pounds, securing a pin vs. Hunter and a decision against JWU. Siracusa, who logged a 10-5 dual-match mark and a 19-12 overall record, posted major decisions at 157 pounds vs Oswego and Hunter, and a decision against JWU.
