OUTSIDE PROGRAMS

Physical Education and Athletics at Wesleyan serve all members of the Wesleyan community and others beyond our campus.  Our mission is to provide a spectrum of activities that enable people from all walks of life to enjoy healthy, energetic, and well-balanced lives.

Cardinal Figure Skating School

Instructors Elaine Lyman and Sarah Carney provide figure skating instruction for 3-year-olds to those at the competitive level.  They conduct classes, present a skating performance and compete at the Wes Ice Rink in the Freeman Athletic Center.  They also coach the Cardinal Figure Skating Team. Sports Camps and Clinics

Coaches and teams on campus host a variety of sports camps and clinics during breaks in Intercollegiate play. Learn more about the sports and coaches involved with clinics for this year.

College Sports Project

This exciting initiative of the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation represents more than 80 NCAA Division III colleges and universities.  Member institutions are committed to two the interconnected objectives:

  • I. Athletes are primarily students, and their academic outcomes and engagement with a wide variety of campus activities should be representative of their peers, and
  • II. Students who participate in intercollegiate athletics should do so in an environment that is integrated with and complementary to the educational values of the institution.

Furthermore, these like-minded institutions have pledged their commitment to the core values of "representativeness" and integration in the hopes of supporting a college sports model that contributes to the overall education of students. Visit the College Sports Project.
