Angela Slevin '15 is Part of Seven School Records as Women's Swimming & Diving Takes 8th at NESCACs

Angela Slevin '15 (photo upper right) was part of seven school records as she broke program standards in all three backstroke events and was part of the 200 medley relay, the 400 medley relay, the 400 free relay and the 800 free relay that all eclipsed Wesleyan marks during the NESCAC Championships hosted by Bowdoin Fri.-Sun., Feb. 15-17.  Slevin had national "B" cuts in both the 100 back and the 200 back, timed in :57.61 and 2:03.05 (prelims), respectively.  The 200 medley relay, timed in 1:47.09, also had a national "B" cut, as did the 400 medley relay with its 3:52.96 time trial.  Joining Slevin on those relays was Roxy Capron '14 (photo upper left), Alyssa Savarino '14 and Cara Colker-Eybel '13 (photo lower right).

Capron also had a pair of "B" cuts, those coming in the 100 breast (1:05.90) and the 200 breast (2:22.80, prelims).  Capron finished third and fourth in the 100 breast and 200 breast, respectively, as Wesleyan's top finisher.  Her third place in the 100 breast earned her all-NESCAC honors.  Rachel Hirsch '15 (photo lower left) was fourth in the 100 breast, also in "B" cut mode (1:06.00).  Slevin had a fourth-place effort in the 100 back and took fifth in both the 50 (:27.13) and 200 back.  Colker-Eybel nabbed sixth in the 200 free (1:53.62, "B" cut) and seventh in the 500 free.  Her 5:02.95 time in the 500 free prelims was a "B" cut.  Wesleyan's final top-eight individual placing came from Ally Anderson '13, who took seventh in the 200 IM.  Anderson was part of the 400 free relay and the 800 free relay that came through with times of 3:34.00 and 7:44.73, respectively, along with Slevin, Colker-Eybel and Savarino.

It will be a little while before any of the Cardinals who met the national "B" cut standard will find out of they get to make the trip to the NCAA Division III Championships in Shenendoah, Texas March 20-23.
