Wesleyan is committed to enrolling a diverse student body – including those from wide-ranging economic backgrounds. Here’s what you need to know about how we handle financial aid: if you’re admitted, we meet your full demonstrated need, making it possible for you to attend Wesleyan whatever your financial circumstances.
You do not have to be wealthy or even well off to come to Wesleyan, as the sample packages show. The average grant award is around above $38,000 and nobody is asked to borrow more than $3,500 as a first-year student, $4,500 as a sophomore, or $5,500 as a junior or senior. In 2012-13, our incoming students who received financial aid grants in their aid award had grants ranging from $1,800 to $56,600. These students came from families with annual parent incomes between $0 and $237,000.
A Wesleyan education can be surprisingly affordable. For a preliminary idea of how much you would be expected to contribute, see the Wesleyan Net Price Calculator.
