Cardinals Capture Five Top Prizes of 11 Events Entered During Opening Meet of Spring Campaign

With 19 teams entered in the competition, Wesleyan hosted the initial meet of the spring season but the affair was moved indoors due to poor outdoor conditions. Wesleyan had entries in 11 of the 16 events and came away with five first-place efforts while collecting 14 top-three finishes overall. Leading the way in individual events for the Cardinals were Idara Foster '15 (photo upper left) with a time of :13.26 in the 100m, nipping a Conn. College runner by .01 seconds in a field of 44 entries; Geneva Jonathan '15 (photo lower left) with her :09.98 clocking in the 60m hurdles for a .03-second win with 23 entrants; Ellie Martin '16 (photo upper right), who led a contingent of four Cardinals to the finish line in the 800m with a 2:24.48 effort; and Aidan Bardos '17 (photo lower right), who finished just ahead of Sydney Cogswell '15 in the 1500m, the former in 5:02.27 and the latter in 5:03.01. Wesleyan's fifth top finish came from the 4x400m relay quarter of Nikita Rajgopal '17, Melissa Luning '15, Ananya Subrahmanian '17 and Sarah Swenson '18 in a time of 4:07.16.
